Happy Canada Day

Celebrate Canada Day with us! Join the festivities in Winnipeg or globally as we honor the unity, resilience, and kindness that define our incredible country.

Hello everyone,

As communities light up the sky and the sound of joyful celebrations fills the air, we want to take a moment to wish each and every one of you a very Happy Canada Day! Whether you’re enjoying the festivities right here in Winnipeg or joining us in spirit from across the globe, this day is all about coming together to celebrate the remarkable acts of kindness and dignity that makes our country and its many Nations so special.

Being able to attend the Sākihiwē Festival, which exemplified so many acts of kindness and dignity, was the highlight of our summer.

This past year has been another incredible journey for us, largely thanks to the incredible support from all of you. We are immensely grateful to the fantastic people from coast to coast to coast and around the world who have stood by our side, lending their time, enthusiasm, and resources to support our programming. Each act of kindness and dignity has made a tangible difference, and we couldn’t have accomplished what we’re doing today without you.

Our program focuses a lot on arts and food sector entrepreneurship, which means we LOVE to visit Indigenous artist run organizations and their marketplaces.

As we reflect on the milestones we’ve achieved together, we are filled with gratitude and excitement for the future. It’s the incredible youth and mentors who’ve spend countless hours volunteering with organizations like Global Dignity – their dedication fuels our mission, and we commit to continuing our work with renewed vigor and passion. We look forward to the adventures and successes that lie ahead, and we are excited to have you with us every step of the way.

So today, let us celebrate not just Canada, but also the incredible community that transcends cultures and borders and unites us all. Let’s raise a toast to the friendships we’ve built, the challenges we’ve overcome, and the bright future ahead.

Thank you once again for your support. Here’s to many more years of working together to Unite Kindness and make a positive impact. Happy Canada Day!

Youth, Arts and Media Team

The Youth, Arts and Media Team supports participatory food security research, arts and organizational development. Through this program, funded by Agriculture Canada and the Government of Canada's Youth Employment Skills Strategy, Indigenous youth artists and early career communicators receive training and exposure to various forms of media and communication roles. Activities build career and job skills, supporting outreach, relationship development and engagement. There is a strong emphasis on food sector and digital literacy and training youth in the design and delivery of health and food security interventions that promote healthy messages.
