TOWARDS A FRAMEWORK FOR NORTHERN FOOD SYSTEMS INNOVATION

The Niriqatiginnga Pilot serves as a prototype social program, arts and cultural entrepreneurship project and online marketplace that will incubate data- driven research and innovation, capacity building and collaborative partnerships to address food insecurity with northern communities. 

This urban program, based in Headingley, and Winnipeg, Manitoba uses a fusion of Arts and Community-Based Participatory Research and data-driven approaches to cultural entrepreneurship, through partnerships with northern and Indigenous Elders and youth, local Winnipeg businesses, Manitoba farmers, food producers, artists and researchers.
