Taste the Creativity

Explore Winnipeg’s vibrant arts and food scene with our project team. This week, we’ve enjoyed incredible visits to top cultural hotspots and dining gems.

This week, members of our project team are exploring some of the many amazing arts and food spaces across Winnipeg. We’ve had an incredible time visiting places and spaces like the Urban Shaman Contemporary Art Gallery, Red River College, Artspace and the Video Pool Media Arts Centre.

All that exploring builds up an appetite! So to cap off our awesome adventures in the Exchange District, we capped off our tour with a visit to Smoke’s Poutinerie for a taste of Winnipeg’s best poutine!

Youth, Arts and Media Team

The Youth, Arts and Media Team supports participatory food security research, arts and organizational development. Through this program, funded by Agriculture Canada and the Government of Canada's Youth Employment Skills Strategy, Indigenous youth artists and early career communicators receive training and exposure to various forms of media and communication roles. Activities build career and job skills, supporting outreach, relationship development and engagement. There is a strong emphasis on food sector and digital literacy and training youth in the design and delivery of health and food security interventions that promote healthy messages.
