Fostering Food Security and Innovation through Experiential Design

May 31 @ 1:30 pm 3:00 pm

Connor Johnson will present on “Fostering Food Security and Innovation through a demonstration of Experiential Design Methodology” for the 2024 Arctic Congress in Bodø, Norway. Using experiential design methodology, this session will highlight how communities can design for meaningful connections to help foster innovation. We will demonstrate one section of Niriqatiginnga’s Facilitator Guidebook for Hosting Immersive Arts Experiences.”

This workshop focuses on activities, and talks, to build relationships, contribute to overall well being, and brings awareness to food security that is being affected by the environmental changes currently happening. It is important to connect with nature and our elders to better understand the changes we experience, and how to go about them in the future.

These connections will allow more action to take place with the goal of improving the experiences of the people attending them, and teaching them lessons that they can take with them wherever they go.

Arctic Congress 2024:

The congress takes place from 29 May to 3 June 2024 in Bodø, Norway, hosted by Nordland Research Institute and Nord University. An extraordinary illustration of Arctic co-operation, we bring these three conferences together for the first time in Bodø (European Capital of Culture 2024).

The congress includes high-level plenary sessions, several parallel sessions, network activities, and social and cultural events. This brings excellent opportunities for researchers, policymakers, businesses, and students to increase their connectivity and knowledge exchange on Arctic issues. IASSA and UArctic will also hold their assemblies.
